This weekend, for the first time in history, York City Ladies will be in action in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
This achievement is reflective of all of the hard work which goes on behind the scenes, by staff and players, but also, from the fantastic support by our fans and the continuous support of our sponsors.
Earlier in the competition, we broke our home attendance record at York Sport Stadium, with 291 fans packed into the stands as we faced Wroxham FC in cold and windy conditions, with many of the same fans travelling to Altrincham to see us make history!
With over a month of preparation, we have reflected on the FA Cup campaign so far, and the brilliant run of form that has led the team here. The team has overcome Westdidsbury and Chorlton, Leeds Modernians, Wroxham FC and Altrincham FC, scoring 12 goals across the campaign, with two clean sheets from goalkeeper Becky Sidwell and a Player of the Round award for captain, Katie Astle.
For an action packed day, come and support the Minster Belles away from home as the team battle for a chance to be in the final 16 teams of the competition!
