York City FC Foundation and York City Ladies FC are delighted to announce a new partnership with #HerGameToo an organisation aiming to raise awareness around sexist abuse in football and wider sport.
Like many other professional, grassroots and other sporting institutes we are committed to supporting the cause and to help create further awareness of the issues females face in and out of the stadiums whether it be face to face or online.
We are committed to working with #HerGameToo to continue to push the message and make football a game for all. We have exciting plans in place throughout 2023 where we will continue to promote the fine work done by everyone involved with Her Game Too.
If you weren’t already aware of #HerGameToo they are a voluntary organisation founded by female football fans in May 2021 with the aims of growing the campaign to ensure women are welcomed and respected equally in football.
Our female pathway programme has continued to go from strength to strength in recent years and we are delighted to now be working with #HerGameToo to keep enforcing the right messages are being voiced.
We are strong believers of “If you can see it, you can be it” this is something we continue to live and work by, something that has become more and more prominent, considerably more so with the development of our Ladies first team.
As the Ladies club we are continuing to develop on and off the pitch, this partnership is another example of our commitment to grow the female game and reinforce the message that football is for all.
York City FC Foundation Manager and Ladies Chairperson Paula Stainton said: “It was an absolute no-brainer for us to get involved in supporting the Her Game Too campaign and becoming official partners.
“We have been cultivating and expanding our women and girls program over the last decade and the ethos of their campaign align totally with our own values.”
Lucy Ford, Co-Founder of #HerGameToo said: “We are delighted to be officially partnering up with both York City Ladies and York City Foundation; the work they are already doing is brilliant to see and we look forward to working with them to continue their great work.”
