York City players and ambassadors help distribute food with Kitchen for Everyone York

On Monday night, York City players and club ambassadors assisted with distributing food around the city centre, with charity partner Kitchen for Everyone York, as part of their regular outreach service.

First-team players Paddy McLaughlin and Harrison Male were joined by club ambassadors Andy Leaning and Chris Jones, helping out one of our charity partners to give out food and drink to the homeless and vulnerable in York.

Led by KEY‘s volunteers, they followed the set route around the city centre, which is part of the outreach programme every Saturday and Monday evening.

The charity also provides meals to the homeless on a Wednesday evening and a Sunday morning.

They all got involved in pouring hot drinks and providing food, such as crisps and snacks to those less fortunate. KEY were also very grateful to all the Minstermen supporters who donated pot noodles at the Maidenhead game last month, which were handed out on Monday evening.

For the homeless and vulnerable, Christmas time especially is challenging, as the cold weather creeps in and there’s a feeling of loneliness, but KEY and their volunteers offer an excellent service to help them out as much as possible, through food, drink, toiletries, warm clothes, other essentials and even just stopping for a chat.
