York City sign forward Luca Thomas on youth loan

York City are excited to announce the signing of forward Luca Thomas on a youth loan agreement from Championship side Leeds United.

Having trained well with Adam Hinshelwood and the squad recently, the forward joins up with The Minstermen officially, of which we’re thankful to Leeds United for facilitating.

Thomas is comfortable either down the middle or out wide, and penned an extension in the summer with Leeds United following a successful three-year spell in their youth ranks after joining in 2021.

In his inaugural season with The Whites, playing in Premier League U18, Thomas bagged an impressive 15 goals in 17 games which earned him his first initial professional two-year contract in 2022.

The versatile forward grabbed six goals and four assists in 18 Premier League 2 appearances last campaign. So far in Premier League 2 this season, the recently turned 20-year-old has netted six goals and setup one in five games.

Thomas has also featured for Leeds United PL2 against Boston United in the National League Cup, scoring twice against The Pilgrims in Leeds’ 4-3 victory.

Welcome to The Minstermen, Luca!
