York City to travel slightly more miles in 2024/25 season

York City will travel 7,458 miles across the 2024/25 Vanarama National League season, slightly more than the season just completed.

Our first season back in the National League saw a hefty 7,908 miles clocked up across 2022/23, with trips far south from Torquay, Eastleigh, & Maidstone.

In 2023/24, City then travelled 7,451 miles across the season – meaning an increase of 7 miles for when we head into the new 2024/25 campaign.

With all competing clubs confirmed following play-offs across the May bank holiday weekend, the Minstermen now know how their season will look on the road.

The shortest trip of the season will see City travel across to West Yorkshire, facing FC Halifax Town at their home The Shay Stadium.

Hartlepool United isn’t far off in terms of mileage too, being the second shortest trip within the to be confirmed calendar.

City’s longest trip of the upcoming campaign will be a trek south to visit the returning Yeovil after they bounced back at the first time of asking.

The fifth tier sees Boston, Braintree and Yeovil return to the highest level of non-league, whilst Tamworth secured back-to-back promotions to fire them to the level for the first time as well.

Forest Green Rovers and Sutton have dropped back into the National League setup having competed for several years within the Football League.

The Green were as high as League One just two seasons ago, whilst Sutton’s first season in League Two saw The Yellows fall short of the play-off spots by just one point, finishing 8th in the end.
