York City welcomed Sky Bet Championship side Sunderland AFC Foundation Of Light’s U10s, 11s & 12s from their Player Development Programme to the LNER Community Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Their visit was part of a wider itinerary across several days, which includes some fixtures against our very own York City FC Academy.
Our guests got the full stadium tour experience from club staff, learning more about our home, the facilities, and York City FC as a club.
With York Stadium Management Company also hosting the Samoan International Rugby League team for training, the youngsters caught a glimpse of how the rugby players were preparing for their upcoming fixture against England.
After their tour, the children hit the York City Club Shop! Several items will be making their way back up to the North East following their visit.
We were delighted to be able to act upon this small request for those young players and staff members whilst on their travels.
