It’s a first home game of the calendar year for the Minstermen this Saturday as we take on play-off contenders Southend United (5:30pm).
It’s a later kick-off for this one, with the match chosen by DAZN for enhanced production.
City come into it in superb form, having won eleven of the last fourteen games, and without a league defeat since October.
A 2-1 victory from behind away at Sutton United seven days ago lifted us to the top of the table for the first time this season.
Southend had to wait until Tuesday to play their rearranged Isuzu FA Trophy game against Bath City, which they would go on to win 3-1 away from home.
In the league, they have come out on top in their last two by fine margins, and are seventh in the table.
Our recent record against the Shrimpers is good – the last meeting ended in a goalless draw, but prior to that, we have won four of the last five.

MOMENT OF SILENCE
We will hold our annual moment of silence to remember former players, officials, and supporters who sadly passed away in 2025, on Saturday evening.
Shortly before kick-off, both teams will come together for a minute’s silence to pay tribute to those who we lost during the last twelve months.
During this time, the names (submitted via our form) of those being remembered will be displayed on the scoreboard and will also be commemorated across our social media channels.
We also encourage supporters to bring along photos of their loved ones to hold up during the minute of silence, creating a ground-wide tribute.
