Match Preview | Eastleigh (H) | Saturday 7th March

City return to the LNER Community Stadium this Saturday for the first time in March, welcoming Eastleigh (3pm kick-off).

For only the third time in the league this season, Stuart Maynard’s men will be looking for a response following defeat, which came away at 4th-placed Boreham Wood.

Ollie Pearce gave us an early lead before City were reduced to ten men in the second half and ended up falling to a 3-2 loss, our first in 25 games.

The Minstermen are currently second in the Enterprise National League, just two points behind leaders Rochdale.

Tomorrow’s opponents Eastleigh are 19th in the league, and were beaten 2-1 by Carlisle United last weekend.

Towards the end of February, the Spitfires announced Richard Hill as interim manager until the end of the season, not his first spell in charge.

The last time we faced Eastleigh was a 4-2 comeback win in November – Ollie Pearce, Craig Hewitt, and Josh Stones were on the scoresheet that day.
