It’s back to the LNER Community Stadium for York City as we host Southend United in our final home game of the year this Saturday (3pm kick off).
A 90th-minute blow away at Tamworth last weekend saw the Minstermen walk away with only a point, after Ollie Pearce had opened the scoring early on to bring his league tally up to 15 for the season.
The result knocks City off of top spot, with Barnet now leading the way heading into Saturday.
15th-placed Southend will certainly be no easy feat for Adam Hinshelwood’s men, with Blues looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
City will be aiming to go one better than the opening day draw down at Roots Hall though – Lenell John-Lewis rescued a point late on, back in early August.
MATCH SPONSOR
Ryedale Joinery are Saturday’s match sponsor. Ryedale Joinery is a family-owned business. They are joinery manufacturers and sash window specialists based at Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire. Their core business is manufacturing wooden windows and doors; much of their work is in York and the surrounding districts.
We hope Ryedale Joinery and their representatives have a fantastic day with us at the LNER Community Stadium.
CHARITY PARTNER FOCUS FIXTURE
This weekend’s fixture is our dedicated focus fixture for charity partner The Snappy Trust.
Snappy (Special Needs Activity and Play Provision for York) started in York in 1985. It began simply with four parents who wanted their disabled child to be with friends in the school holidays. They got together with a local special school and brought the children to school for some days during the summer.
Moving on almost forty years, Snappy now has a register of almost three hundred children, young people, and their families. We operate in all school holidays, weekends and some evenings, and our age range is 6 to 26.
