York City are back in action for back-to-back Bank Holiday fixtures, starting with Chesterfield at the LNER Community Stadium on Friday, March 29th (3pm kick off).
Adam Hinshelwood’s side go into the game following consecutive victories, and clean sheets, for the first time this season.
A strong backing, whilst City push for a third consecutive victory, could be the difference as we look to go one step further in our quest for survival.
Champions Chesterfield wrapped up their title and promotion back to the Football League last Saturday, beating Boreham Wood 3-0 at home in front of the TNT Sports cameras.
After strong sales in both the East and South Stand, additional tickets have been made available in the North Stand.
Match Sponsor
The Minstermen welcome Plonkers as match sponsor for our latest home game against Chesterfield on Friday afternoon.
Based in the historic riverside of York; Plonkers has been serving high quality locally sourced food and drinks since the 1980s. The name Plonkers, comes from the word Plonk, which was used to describe cheap French table wine in the 1980s (although research suggests the Aussies coined the word before the Brits!).
Plonkers Wine Bar has been around since those early 1980s times and is completely independent and family run.
Go and enjoy the unique friendly atmosphere either within their unique building or out on the iconic Riverside, a location which is hard to beat! At Plonkers, they aim to provide the very best personal service to all customers and continue to support the many local breweries and suppliers.
We hope everybody connected with Plonkers enjoy their day with us at the LNER Community Stadium.

The Rosemaries will be our Foundation Fan Zone Stage entertainment for Friday’s game.

Since then the band have leant more and more on post-punk influences, leading to a more focused sound. The band is comprised of 5 members: Leyon Sykes on lead guitar; Arthur Sharpe on rhythm; Fraser Wood underpins the band with his bass; Louie Powell glues the band on the drums; and Billy Hearld’s vocals sit atop.
